SELECTIVE AWARENESS
SELECTIVE AWARENESS
What an interesting topic! We have often heard Yogis and Spiritual Masters using this word 'Awareness' isn't it? But what does Awareness really mean? It's the quality or the state of being aware. Knowledge and understanding that something is happening, a perception about something. There are three types of Awareness. 'Peripheral Awareness' where we are aware about the happenings in our surroundings. Then we have 'Sensory Awareness' wherein one can have a sense that something is happening. And the third one is 'Self Awareness' which is largely used today, and it is to be aware of your ownself, about how you feel, where do your feelings come from, are you angry? And why are you angry, so on and so forth.
But has anyone heard about 'Selective Awareness' ? What does it that it really means? The word selective by itself means 'to choose'. So Selective Awareness means to choose what I want to be aware of. TO SELECT WHERE I PUT MY ATTENTION. In others words Selective Awareness is nothing but my “DHARANA SHAKTI”.
Our Guru, our Babaji, has always told us that we must learn to choose. It is actually not as simple as it sounds. Because when we really have to ask ourselves, what is it that we really want, we would all be scracthing our heads.. Because its difficult to go deeper and deeper and to really ask yourself ' what is it that I really want? “TUM CHHAHETE KYA HO”. A human being is powerful and a Shiv Yogi is even more powerful isn't it. Our Babaji has taught us to meditate and to manifest using our Dharana Shakti. So wherever I put my attention, that thing becomes more powerful. Therefore Babaji tells us not to focus on the things that you do not want and to focus on that which you desire.
Therefore, let us use our Selective Awareness with high consciousness as our Babaji would want us to do. Let us use our Selective Awareness to create a better environment, a better surrounding, a better World. Let us put put our attention on love and peace. Helping one another to have better lives. Babaji always says that when we put our intention to something, it can happen. But now with this Awareness that we Shiv Yogis have, let us be mindful about the Selective Awareness, about where I would put my Dharana Shakti. Let us choose to act for the highest good of all. Where everyone benefits and as our Baba says again and again and again 'Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu'. Till we meet again.
